Performance of Twilite Orchestra led by Addie MS, Tuesday july 21 2009, at the Sidney Opera House Building, Sidney, Australia, invited public admiration. Some spectators who asked for commentaries also states satisfied. "Very good. My son happens to learn about Indonesia, and I truly just know that the Indonesian orchestra is good," said Morris, of Sidney.
Two Australian artists, tenor Stephen Smith and Australian Idol winner, Jessica Hild Mauboy, also hit during a sing of Indonesian songs. When Smith sang Tanah Airku song, spectators speechless and impressed. After the appearance, spectators also gave long applaud. Similar things happen when Mauboy sang Bengawan Solo.
After the performance, the conductor Addie MS confess satisfied with the appearance. According to Addie, the shows really be done in the proper place. Twilite Orchestra usually play in buildings that are less representative.
Road of Twilite Orchestra to perform in Australia was not easy. Two proposals had failed. The problem is, there are no sponsor wants to pay for a symphony concert. "It's all about money at the end. A TV station would like to be sponsor but at last time it was canceled," said Addie.
When the funds are available, according to the singer's husband Memes, "I can not take much crews. It should be 80 people, but that appears now only 50 people. Yes, I had to lift chairs by myself.
The Twilite Orchestra was founded in June 1991, initially an ensemble with 20 musicians. The ensemble has developed since then into a full symphonic orchestra with 70 musicians, a 63-member Twilite Chorus, and a repertoire that ranges from Beethoven to The Beatles.
The orchestra has earned the respect and trust of international performers with whom they have collaborated such as Natalie Cole, David Foster, Richard Clayderman, Robin Gibb (Bee Gees), Maksim, Moscow Rachmaninov Trio, Il Divo; Australian tenors and sopranos to name, Ding Yi, Rosario La Spina, Michael-John Hurney, Taryn Fiebig, Li Jien Lin, Ally McGreggor, and James Egglestone. From its first inception, the Twilite Orchestra has been under the baton of Addie MS, who serves as both music director and conductor.
